I would hope that eventually some automated systems will run long
enough (~decade) to get long-term variations in some hundreds of these
stars in two colors (more colors not necessary). Then you could start
looking for systematics vis-a-vis multi-modes, mode-switching, secular
drfits, etc. The 10-year dataset of mine on the SRa star AI Aur (not AU Ari!)
that Laszlo Kiss analyzed recently (2001A&A...370..496K) showed only a
garden-variety fundamental-mode pulsator.
