For those of you who were asking; the name "Ruby Crucis" (= DY Cru, NSV
19481, CCCS 2031, EsB 365, "that red star beside Beta", etc) was coined
by Janita Hill of the Astronomical Society of South Australia. I first
heard her use the name a few years ago.
So all the fame (or blame) for this delightful moniker belongs to her ;-)
