The G-numbered stars are for "Giclas", who was in charge of the
Lowell Proper-Motion Survey.
In general I think you'll find the Strasbourg catalogue service both
faster and more reliable:
http://cdsweb.u-strasbg.fr/cats/Cats.htx
If you search using the keywords "lowell" or "giclas" it will return the
list including the survey star catalogues.
