Dear Dr. Kato,

We have looked into your suggested identification of V854 Oph (S. Yoshida,
K. Kadota, T. Kato, IBVS, 2000, No. 4843). Unfortunately, we definitely
cannot accept your identification of V854 Oph with Misao V0005. First of
all, the chart in: P. Shajn, Peremennye Zvezdy, 1934, 4, No. 8, 261,
clearly identifies Ross 359 = V854 Oph with Stephenson 141. This star
varies on Moscow plates (we have not too many plates of the field, and the
collection used by Shajn is not available now). We feel that the GCVS data
on the star's type and period are not correct; nevertheless, Misao 0005 is
a new variable and NOT V854 Oph.
