Delta Cep period analysis of visual observations
Dear Colleagues,
We have been rather intensively observing delta Cep visually, in order
to test how exactly visual observations can determine the Cepheid period.
Based on 412 observations reported to VSNET (1997.07.06 - 2000.11.12),
I have obtained a period of 5.3660 d using PDM. The resultant theta
diagram shows a very sharp periodicity, resulting a minimum theta of 0.517
(corresponding to P < 10^-5). The baseline of observations corresponds
to 200 periods. The excellent agreement of the period with the previously
known period is far better than I had expected.
