Grazing occultations of Antares were succesfully observed in South Africa
on at least three occasions - maybe more, but I have only been able to find
three so far.
The first one, observed on 1968 August 3-4 at Beit Bridge, just north
of Messina, not only the first but probably also the best observed
one in SA.
The second one on 1970 Feb.28-March 1 observed at Touwsriver, Cape
Province.
The last one 1989 June 17 observed at Aberdeen, Cape province, by
myself only. No other observers could be found.
