In the MISAO Project database, six unfiltered CCD images on three
nights (1999 Apr. 8, Sept. 23, 2000 Feb. 24) taken by KenIchi Kadota
contain this position. But it is just at the edge of the two on one
night (1999 Apr. 8). The thumbnail image on 1999 Sept. 23 and 2000
Feb. 24 is available at:

No star brighter than 15 mag is found at the position. However, the
star about three pixels (about 20 arcsec) east of the position,
pointed by the triangular mark on the image above, may be fading on
this image. So I wonder the star is that pointed by the MACHO team.

Please note that the star is too faint to say it is variable or not on
the Kadota's images. But I can say that the MACHO variable star is not
a red variable star, if so, it must be bright enough to be found on
the Kadota's unfiltered CCD images.

Best regards,
