Dear Dr. Lange,

you ask well question on the V1494 Aql' oscillations. 
Yes, it is the common property of some of novae. 
But the V1494 Aql case is unique as there is two successive periods
(namely two). 
It is possible its cause is connected with the ejected nova envelope. 
For example, the DQ Her type novae have the dust condensation event 
in this phase.  But here is other cause. 

In any case the discovery and monitoring 
of such ocsillations is very necessary.
