Subject: SN2000E pre-discovery images

Rhodri Evans (University of Chicago, Yerkes Observatory) and George Corso
(De Paul University) report Cousins R and I-band CCD images using the 1-m
Yerkes reflector of SN 2000E on January 24.03 UT, 2.5 days before the
discovery announcement of Valentini etal. (IAUC 7351), and possibly the
earliest images of SN 2000E.

Absolute photometry is not yet available, but prelimenary analysis
comparing the SN to USNO A2.0 1500-07508662 at RA=20h37m01.39s
DEC=+66d06m38.1s (equinox 2000) shows the SN to be 2.7m brighter in the
R-band and 1.0m brighter in the I-band.
