Variable Star workers:
The most popular web page on my web site lately has been the tutorial
on making light curve charts in Excel. It is at
http://vsnet.geocities.com/lcoo/plotexel.htm
This indicated to me there was a need for an automatic light curve
generator. Input a list of times and magnitudes (check star
magnitudes, too) and get an automatic plot. It is AutoPlot.xls.
It is available for downloading for private use without cost at the
web site
http://vsnet.geocities.com/lcoo/autoplot.htm
Another spreadsheet is available to convert VSNET format data
(YYYYMMDD.ddddd) to JD. It can be copied numerous times as a single
cell into spreadsheets for computation. It is at
http://vsnet.geocities.com/lcoo/LewsCell.htm
Yet another spreadsheet is available for converting dates into
Heliocentric corrected Julian Dates. This last sheet requires input
of the star's J2000 coordinates to calculate the HJD. It can be
incorporated into a Macro or calculations done one data point at a
time. I will also modify it soon so it can be used with JD input as
well. It is at:
http://vsnet.geocities.com/lcoo/SUNTime.htm
I hope some of you find these aids useful. Please let me know if you
do. Let me know if there are any problems, too.
=====
Regards, Lew
