Patrick has properly pointed out that I was using
the finding chart from DS93 instead of DWS97.  I
was in a hurry to get to a meeting and didn't pay
attention to his email.  Looking at the *correct*
star, about 7arcsec north of the DS93 star, I get
the following magnitudes and colors:

yymmdd   HJD        V     B-V    verr   bverr
991013 51464.7870 18.743  0.296  0.024  0.031 
991105 51487.7467 18.872  0.256  0.021  0.032

which is a properly blue star.  Sorry for the error!
