Hi,
if someone stated that NGC 0495 was a SBab type galaxy, could he be proven wrong based on the DSS2 image?
Regards,
Berto

Further to Hitoshi's comments on the morphological type of NGC 495, I
have just examined the POSS-II J film of the galaxy, and agree that the RC3
type (SB0-) is in error, as is the type showing presently in NED,
(R')SB(s)0/a pec:, which is correct apart from the Hubble stage. This is
clearly an "anemic" (gas-poor, low current star-formation) spiral near stage
Sb, and I would call it (R')SB(s)b II in the revised Hubble system.
