Dear all, When observing R CrB recently I (again) noted that the AAVSO-sequence is looking very odd in the magnitude 12-14 region. To me comparisons 122, 137 and 140 look OK, more or less, but the 126, 131, and 135 look (much) brighter. Can somebody supply me with better magnitudes? And if this is not available, can somebody do photometry in the magnitude 12-15 range? This would be very useful. Recent VSNET-postings also suggest that something odd is going on here. See the recent observations below. Since about October 11, when R CrB started to fade through the poor magnitude range, the scatter, which is normally less than 0.5 magnitude, occasionally increased to about 1.0 magnitude, and only so when one ignores 2 apparent erroneous observations, possibly due to misidentification of the variable.
