   GM Sgr is definitely an X-ray binary, not a CV.  This source probably
contains a black hole or a neutron star.  The very strong HeII emission
lines detected by Ayani et al. are indicative.

   It may be possible, if the accretion completely stops.  But before
conludind, one might wish to confirm whether the right star was observed.
