Listed below is BV photometry (from an unpublished source) for four stars close to NGC 3198, which should prove useful no matter what type of variable the new candidate turns out to be. These are extracted from my large photometric reference file. In the last column I give R magnitudes derived directly from the BV data, which should be reliable to within a few hundredths of a magnitude. \Brian =========== Name RA (2000) Dec s GSC V B-V R NGC 3198 1 10 20 00.5 +45 36 31 G 3435-0470 11.92 0.63 (11.56) NGC 3198 2 10 19 49.2 +45 38 53 G 3435-0832 12.63 1.03 (12.07) NGC 3198 4 10 19 50.5 +45 28 22 G 3435-0513 15.04 0.62 (14.69) NGC 3198 3 10 19 55.8 +45 30 19 A 15.07 0.49 (14.78)
