The observer was Dave Branchett - then resident in the UK. I have not
heard that it was a mis-id by the observer. In fact I believe there is
a photograph of it taken by Alan Young in Guy Hurst's library somewhere.
Maybe Guy could comment more on this, as he was heavily involved in the
'discovery' way back in 1981, and knows the story much better than I do.
