[vsnet-chat 1434] Re: Bistar Survey on Sept. 12

This is very interesting and valuable survey work. As a next step,
you may wish to try getting photometric calibrations of your images.
For your two shorter focal-length lenses (24mm and 35mm) it will be
convenient to use corrected V and B-V from the Tycho catalogue, since
the magnitude limits are well matched. For the two telephoto lenses,
the Tycho photometry can be supplemented with fainters stars from my
long list of photometric reference stars. The 180mm lens will always
have some of these fainter stars, and 300mm lens will have them often.
Since you are first making a star-list with coordiantes for all stars,
use of a list such as this can be made nearly automatic, much as you are
already doing with matching the star-filed with the GSC.
     Good luck with your project!
