[vsnet-chat 936] Prediscovery image of SN 1998bu in M96

Chuck Faranda, Florida, obtained an image of M96 on May 3.14 UT, which
shows the current supernova at about mag. 16.5. The CCD image can be
viewed at:

A report about this has been submitted to the Central Bureau for inclusion
on an IAU Circular.
