I guess I 'third' the recommendations of Bruce and Brian. Making
sequences seems unexciting, compared with taking data on the SNe
itself. Yet, in the end, contributing a good sequence is worth
much more than a couple of additional, poorly-zeropointed, observations.
Brian and I have talked about this on several occasions...there is
no reason why amateurs can't do sequences, yet few do. That is one
reason why I've included a section in my upcoming book on how to
create good sequences. As Bruce mentioned, good southern sequences
are worth even more than northern ones, so if there are any
volunteers, I for one would be willing to give some instruction.
(BTW, Dave is hoping to do a better job on the photometry for
the next release of USNO-A, but it depends critically on lots of
deep sequences being available.)
