Seiichiro Kiyota asked if we should still observe supernovae. The AAVSO
is certainly interested in such observations if the SN is bright enough
to be seen in telescopes of apertures in the 30-60cm range. That would
be brighter than about 14th magnitude at maximum. If we (Amateurs)
don't who will? There will most likely be someone later who will use
the data. Go to it.
I had a look at SN 1998S this evening, found it about mag. 12.2.
