[vsnet-chat 661] VSNET charts based on Hip/Tyc series 2

Dear Colleagues,

    We have been preparing GIF chart series for bright variable stars based
on Hipparcos/Tycho magnitudes.  The new series (series 2) containing R And
- Z Peg has made available by anonymous ftp or WWW.  The files are at

  http://ftp.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp/pub/vsnet/charts/HIPGIF2

    The file names are the same as for the series 1 (HIPGIF).  The new series
has new features: covering a little smaller area, avoiding overlaps of
Hipparcos/Tycho magnitudes, and inclusion of some useful catalogs.

    Stars after Z Peg will be made available in a few days.

    Changes have been also reflected to the index to variables page
(http://vsnet.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp/vsnet/gcvs/index.html).
