Dear Richard,
thank you for your interest and observations. 
I am not surprised of the invisibility of the star to visual observer.
In fact, as reported by Brian Skiff in a previous vsnet-chat, the USNO
A1.0 star catalogue reports a
blue magnitude of 17.2 and a red magnitude of 13.7. 

Of course, a CCD frame in the V band will be useful. Unlucky, I have
not  a V filter, so I ask if somebody here can provide us with such a
frame.
