[vsnet-chat 403] quasi-periodic variation in RS Oph

   Recent observations suggest the recurrent nova RS Oph is exhibiting
a quasi-periodic brightness modulation with a period of 40-50 days.

   Approximate times when the star was bright:

   1996 Sep. 13  (2450340)
   1996 Oct. 20  (  50377)
   1997 Feb. 10  (  50490)
   1997 Mar. 24  (  50532)
   1997 Jun.     - the object is bright now

   This reminds me of the 1992 occasion, when the star varied semi-
periodically between 10 (very bright) and 12 mag.
