[vsnet-chat 211] VV Cep comparison stars



   For visual observers of the coming eclipse of the long-period eclipsing
binary VV Cep, the VSOLJ team has set up the following photoelectric
sequence taken from the HIC (Hipparcos Input Catalogue).

  220500.4 +624708  5.29   1.41 (*1)
  220508.7 +621647  5.12   0.24
  215853.4 +624152  5.90   1.66 (*1)
  221349.7 +630944  6.12  -0.08
  221222.3 +631727  5.75   1.63 (*1)

  (*1) Relatively red star.  Use carefully.
  (*2) 5-th mag star near VV Cep at 220353.0 +630711 is MO Cep.  5-th mag
       star at 213755.2 +620454 is V337 Cep.  Avod these though they have
       been frequently adopted as comparisons in variable star charts.
