The "vsnet-chat" is an excellent idea; especially for novice observers
who might be embarrassed to post simple questions in "vsnet".  Also good
for announcements, FAQs, and slightly off-topic messages ;)

"vsnet-chart" mailing I'm not so sure of.  Some of the charts now being
distributed are useless at my latitude (or the stars are too faint), so
I would still be getting charts I can't use.  The same would happen for
northern observers if I ever start posting charts for Octans or the
Magellanic Clouds... ;)

Maybe the administrators could set up "vsnet-chart" as a receive-only
server, make the charts available on VSNET FTP & WWW, and just post a
list of "charts received this week" to vsnet subscribers. Then vsnet
subscribers can choose which charts they want.
