AY Lac is a cataclysmic variable
According to IBVS No. 5441, Kroll et al. concluded that AY Lac is
most likely a cataclysmic variable, by confirming the outburst detection
on the archival plates. They suggested that the object may be either
a recurrent nova or a WZ Sge-like object.
Since this object has been regularly monitored by the VSNET members,
there won't be a special need for stressing its importance, but the chart
presented in IBVS 5441 would be helpful for securely locating the object.
The sequence is available in [vsnet-id 293].
Regards,
Taichi Kato
