GO Com: superhump period decrease again! Dear Colleagues, We have received new data from Jochen Pietz (two nights), Donn Starkey, Yasuo Sano-san, Nogami-san (Hida observatory), Tom Krajci, Torii-san (RIKEN), and Kyoto observation (observers: Uemura-san and Ishioka-san). The new data have confirmed that the superhump period turned to decrease again. The behavior suggests that the beat phenomenon is more responsible, rather than the true superhump period change. If this is confirmed, the description and analysis in [vsnet-campaign-dn 3757] (attached below) will be valid. Further analysis is in progress. > If the second interpretation is correct, the estimated fractional > superhump excess is about 2.5%, which is not unusual for an SU UMa-type > dwarf nova with this superhump period. In any case, the superhump > evolution of GO Com has not been monotonous. We therefore strongly > encourage observations as continously and thoroughly as possible > during the entire superoutburst and the subsequent post-superoutburst > stage!
