RX Vol: refined superhump period and period change Dear Colleagues, We have received new data from Berto Monard. The data still clearly show superhumps. The best superhump period has been determined to be 0.06117(3) d. There is more stronger evidence for a period decrease, although the absolute period derivative is an order of magnitude smaller than in the long-period SU UMa stars. From a refined analysis of the data, the initial (0.060 d) variation seems to bear some resemblance to early superhumps. This observation may provide a new observational clue for a transition from early superhump to ordinary superhumps, which is still a problem for accretion-disk theories.
