CU Vel superhumps
Dear Colleagues,
We have received further data on CU Vel from Peter Nelson and Bernard
Heathcote. Although seven days have passed since the initial observation,
the superhumps are still clearly visible.
A preliminary timing analysis seems to show that the superhump period
may have turned to decrease, in contrast to the initially observed trend.
If this phenomenon is confirmed, the period change in CU Vel may bear
some resemblance to those of V1028 Cyg, AL Com and possibly WZ Sge.
Nevertheless, the small absolute values of O-C's are already sufficiently
unusual for this superhump period.
Further observations are still very strongly encouraged!
