IY UMa superoutburst observations Dear Colleagues, I have just been back from the observatory, where Uemura-san will be intensively observing IY UMa with a 60-cm telescope. We have received many, many (thanks!) data from Lew Cook, Gianluca Masi, Arto Oksanen and Jochen Pietz (CCD observations) and time-series visual observations from Mike Simonsen. We have also received a report of successful observations by Lukas Kral. All observations have (or must have) clearly caught superhumps and prominent eclipses, with substructures as already reported. The data are now being carefully examined by Uemura-san, and further analysis will be reported by him. The present superoutburst of IY UMa is undoubtedly a winner to all who observed the phenomenon! Thanks to all who monitored, expected and reported the present outburst, which is first time caught during the rising phase! When sending your observations, please be sure to send them also to Uemura-san and Ishioka-san (uemura@kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp, ishioka@kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp) to enable prompt analysis! Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
