    We have started time-series photometry of V344 Ori at Kyoto.
We confirmed the outburst, and preliminary photometry yields the 
current magnitude to be Rc=13.6 (2001 January 16 9:45 UT).

    We will have two hours run.  Follow-up observations are encouraged.
