Dear all, With HX Peg still low above the Eastern horizon, and a bit of twilight left, I made a number of unfiltered CCD exposures of the HX Peg region, using a 0.35-m f/6.3 telescope, around 18h45m UT (Sep 20, 2003). There is no new object near the locations quoted by Michael Linnolt and Mike Simonsen, up to a limiting magnitude of about 16.5 (Red). I might give it another try later this evening, when HX Peg is at a more convenient location. Hi Michael, It looks like it's gonna be very clear over Belgium tonight, so I will attempt to get some CCD images of the suspect object, using the 0.35-m f/6.3 telescope of CBA Belgium Observatory. If the object is confirmed, I might attempt unfiltered photometry, although I will have to decide between this object or V585 Lyr (currently in a rare outburst). I'll keep you informed. Hello, Whilst observing HX Peg (starting to outburst at V=14.0) I noticed a new/brighter object nearly coincident with the star USNO-B1.0 1026-0769191 (also marked as comp 155 on Simonsen chart 000906). Approx location = 23 40 04 +12 38 01 (J2000). I made 3 observations over about 30 minutes, and it seems fairly steady about V=14.6 MPChecker shows one object within 15 arcmin (2000 AD23) but its several arcmin away and V=17.9 Confirmation is urgently requested!
