XMM-Newton will be observing V4743 Sgr for 10 hours today.
The observation begins at 22:06 (UT). This is a
Target of Opportunity observation that was just granted
yesterday because there is a hint of a violently variable
underlying source in this system. Contemporaneous/
simultaneous observations would be very useful.

This morning I was able to take a short time series of V4743 Sgr in V band. I used SAO 187580 (V=9.27) and SAO 187591 (V=8.76) as comparison stars. The results are below. The column "SNR" is the signal-to-noise ratio calculated by the MIRA software. The SNR decreased due to the increasing sky background as the sun came up. Based on the SNR I would be hard pressed to call the variations anything more than normal statistical fluctuations (but I could be wrong).
