Unfiltered CCD images of the reported X Ray transient IGR J16318-4848
were taken on UT 2003 Feb 04.05 at the Bronberg Observatory near
Pretoria.
By stacking a number of the best images, a deep field image with a
limiting magnitude beyound 19.5CR was obtained. It was inspected inside
a radius of 2.5', centered on the position given in IAUC No. 8063.
In comparison to images of the Digitized Sky Surveys of generation 1
and generation 2/red and 2/ir no new star was found down to a magnitude
of 19.0CR. There was no obviously brightened star either.
This message can be cited and the image can be made available.

Berto Monard
