GZ Cnc outburst: possible superhumps? We have further analyzed the January 28 data. The new data indicate that the strange variations (including spiky oscillations) reported in the preceding report appeared late in January 28. Slow modulations with a period close to 2 hr also emerged. We have confirmed that these slow modulations on January 28-29 can not be expressed by the orbital period. The best determined period (adopting the best likely alias) is 0.0903(2) d, which is about 2.8% longer than the orbital period (0.0878 d). These modulations thus can be interpreted as superhumps during the growing stage. The period estimate and possible interpretation, however, should be treated with caution, since there still remains a cycle count ambiguity and there may be a rapid period/phase change during such a transtionary stage. Further observations are undoubtedly impetuously needed! Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
