VW Tuc outburst observation Dear Colleagues, We have received VW Tuc time-series observations from Peter Nelson and Bernard Heathcote. The data were taken on two nights (Jan. 3 and 4). The object was fading linearly during this period. No apparent superhumps were observed, suggesting that the object is an SS Cyg-type (UGSS) dwarf nova. The mean decline rate was 0.4 mag/d, which implies a moderate orbital period. Further analysis for short-period variation will be undertaken. Further nightly (snapshot) observations are still encouraged to fully describe the characteristics of the outburst of this poorly known object. We have also received several images, which will be later posted on the VSNET website. Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
