Subject: Re: [FWD] UW Pic in active state >The on-line cv atlas describes UW Pic (Pic1, RX J0531-4624) as an AM >Her star with a magnitude range between 16.4V-17.2V and a period of >0.09268 (1994). UM Pic was identified as a northern star of close (~ 3" separation) double (Reinsch et al., A&A, 291, L27, 1994). The V-band image in Reinsch et al. suggest that a southern star itself is also a closer double, which cannot be separated in DSS images. Precise astrometry will help to determine which is real violently oscillating object, as well as whether it has a notable proper motion. The most promising catalogued position of this object is: GSC-2.2.1 05:31:35.596 -46:24:05.54 R=15.86 Bj=16.83 Sincerely Yours, Hitoshi Yamaoka, Kyushu Univ., Japan yamaoka@rc.kyushu-u.ac.jp
