I have taken 20-second V-band images of the field of GP Com
with the 10-inch Meade LX200 plus SBIG ST-8E CCD at the
RIT Observatory. The time of exposure is about 3:00 UT May 8
(11:00 PM EDT Tuesday May 7). I see clearly the stars in the field of the
Downes et al. finding chart, including the 15-th magnitude
star "GP Com-9" at RA=13:05:46.9 Dec=+17:58:45. There is no
source of similar brightness at the position of GP Com.
I am taking a second exposure right now to verify ...
Once again, there is no source as bright as the 15-th mag
star "GP Com-9" at the position of GP Com.
