Hi,
I would like to (dare to?) report my unbiased (not aware of the SN discovery) visual observation of NGC 1365.
NGC 1365 010825.95 <146 MLF
This observation was made with reference to comparison star C.
The following stars represent my comparison sequence for NGC 1365. Possibly they could be used by observers for further visual monitoring of the present SN (in absence of something better).
A: obvious star near the centre / 13.6 V (0.8)
B: at 033346.8-360303 / 14.1 V (bluish star positioned near the tail of a spiral arm)
C: at 033349.6-360743 / 14.6 V (faintest star of a triangle to the North of Gx) *
D: at 033401.6-360846 / 15.4 V
* From USNOA2.0 / UCAC1 data the other two stars are brighter and too red.
Unfortunately we have run out of good weather since..
Regards,
Berto Monard
