[vsnet-alert 5560] Possible nova in Puppis: V445 Pup

here is a recent magnitude estimate for this nova candidate
PUPV445 20010114.96424 8.82Rc MAS
This notation means:
Nova Pup(?): 14.96424 Jan 2001 (UT), mag. 8.82 R (unfiltered). Reference
magnitudes: R mags from A. Henden file [vsnet-chat 3930]; I used as references the USNO
A0600.06944827 (R=9.91) and A0600.06936746 (R=8.46).
Using the same reference stars, I remeasured my 06 Jan. image getting the following:
PUPV445 20010106.98803 8.55Rc MAS
that is:
Nova Pup(?): 06.98803 Jan 2001 (UT), mag. 8.55 R (unfiltered).
So, the star faded of about 0.27 mag in 8 days.
