(fwd) Correct position of SN 2000fa Date: Fri, 1 Dec 2000 14:13:40 -0800 (PST) From: weidong li <weidong@urania.Berkeley.EDU> Subject: Correct position of SN 2000fa Hi all, Below is a message I sent to Dan Green a while ago, it is about the correct position, offsets, and magnitudes of SN 2000fa. Sorry for the confusion, hope I didn't waste you precious spectroscopic telescope time, Weidong ================================== Hi Dan, I made a mistake when measuring SN 2000fa in UGC 3770: I confused it with a star of similar brightness which is also inside the galaxy. Part of the reasons is that the finding chart is always north up and our images are always south up. So below the the revised position and brightness of the SN: Position: R.A. = 7h15m29s.88, Decl. = +23 25'42".4 (Equinox 2000.0), which is 6".6 east and 4".2 north the nucleus of UGC 3770. The magnitudes of the SN are 17.3 on Nov 30.5 UT, and 17.0 on Dec 1.2 UT. Could you please issue an erratum for this? Thanks a lot, and sorry for stupid mistake! (Thanks to Tom Matheson in CFA who alerted me of this problem). Cheers, Weidong
