Dear colleagues,
An intermediate inspection of the real-time developing light curve of RXJ1450.5+6403 (see outburst announcement earlier tonight in VSNET-ALET 4834) clearly shows the presence of superhumps, thus establishing this object as a new member of the SU UMa type of cataclysmic variables.
Some further details : observations are being made using a 0.35-m f/6.3 telescope and unfiltered CCD at CBA Belgium Observatory, on May 14/15, 2000. Period determination is done using PDM, and yields a (preliminary) superhump period of 0.0617d +/- 0.0003d. Amplitude is 0.32 mag.
The object is still increasing in brightness.
Best regards,
