If Hazel gets a chance to look at Bruce Sumner's sequence at
http://ftp.nofs.navy.mil/pub/outgoing/aah/sequence/sumner/v844her.seq
she will find that GSC 3062-00173 is listed there at
ID RA (2000) DEC X Y N V ERR B-V ERR
2 16 24 51.3 +39 12 08 -122 161 4 12.346 0.077 0.638 0.066
Bruce's notes indicate that the star is saturated, which is
why the errors are so large. I've gone back to my original
data and found that only one observation was badly saturated.
removing this observation, I get
V ERR B-V ERR
12.310 0.032 0.670 0.015
which should be pretty close to reality. I hope this helps
in reprocessing Hazel's observation.
I am on the 1.0-m starting Friday. Since it looks like V844 Her
gets as bright as the bright end of Bruce's sequence, I'll observe
the field again and get better values for the two brightest stars.
