V1195 OPHIUCHI (UG)
This (probable) dwarf nova is currently in outburst:
990526.340 <185C Scp
990606.310 164:C Scp
990607.307 165:C Scp
The only previously observed maxima occurred on 1956 June 12 (mpg= 16.2)
and 1959 April 29 (mpg= 15.8).
I have obtained the following astrometry:
R.A. 17h00m21.63s Decl. -20o53'34.8" (J2000.0) (reference: GSC stars)
On the finding chart (POSS) in Duerbeck's nova catalogue V1195 Oph is
visible at quiescence; it is the star WSW of the marked star.
Duerbeck's candidate is identical with the following star from the USNO-A2.0
catalogue: R.A. 17h00m22.363s Decl. -20o53'31.17" (r= 18.0, b= 18.9)
Regards,
Patrick
