Dear coleagues, On the position of SN 1999bg, there has been some object on the Digitized Sky Survey 2 image. It is catalogued in USNO-A1.0 as: rmag bmag U1500_05554169 12:04:7.22 +63:29:59.24 17.8 18.7 U1500_05554176 12:04:7.39 +63:30:4.00 18.7 19.4 , either of which seems to be diffuse but can be a star or acompanied (or background) galaxy. Note that the feature including these two are somewhat clober-shaped, and the reported position of SN 1999bg is near to the center of clober. Further confirmation process (of course, spectroscopic followup) should be urgently needed. Sincerely Yours, Hitoshi Yamaoka, Kyushu Univ., Japan yamaoka@rc.kyushu-u.ac.jp
