AK Cnc outburst Gary Poyner reports that the short-period SU UMa-type dwarf nova AK Cnc is undergoing an outburst (possibly a superoutburst). Several previous superhump detections were reported, but with relatively sparse temporary coverage. Being in favorable evening target, time-series CCD photometry is recommended (unless BC UMa erupts ;-). Post-superoutburst rebrightening is also expected for this short period system. The latest reported superoutburst of AK Cnc occurred in 1998 Februrary - March. YYMMDD(UT) mag observer 990218.488 <140 (R. Stubbings) 990220.485 <140 (R. Stubbings) 990220.653 <145 (T.
