Continuous brightning of 3C279

Dear Colleagues,

  CCD observations of the Ouda team (T. Kato and K. Matsumoto) have shown
the blazar 3C279 has been sharply rising for these three nights.

   Nightly averaged magnitudes:

  990213.615 14.45 C
  990214.603 14.50 C
  990215.619 14.39 C
  990216.589 14.20 C
  990217.656 13.88 C

  (C: unfiltered CCD photometry)

  Comparison star: GSC4956.1119 R=12.05 adopted (V=12.42, B-V=0.60) for 3C279

  The present optical brighteness is close to that on Jan. 26, taken just
after the flare alert.
