VW CrB likely superoutburst The SU UMa-type dwarf nova VW CrB (former Var21 CrB) is reported to be in bright outburst. YYMMDD(UT) mag observer 980913.769 <145 (T. Kinnunen) 980914.806 <172 (L. T. Jensen, CCD unfiltered) 980915.844 <172 (L. T. Jensen, CCD unfiltered) 980916.844 <172 (L. T. Jensen, CCD unfiltered) 980919.842 <152 (G. Poyner) 980920.840 <148 (G. Poyner) 980922.790 <145 (T. An outburst was subsequently detected by M. Iida in 1996 June. In 1997 May, T. Vanmunster detected a bright outburst (mag 14.1, CVC 137, vsnet-alert 887). CCD observations by R. Novak revealed the existence of superhumps (vsnet-alert 892), confirming the SU UMa-type nature of the object. The present outburst is the first reported one since the 1996 August normal outburst (Jensen).
