[vsnet-alert 2166] XTE J1550-564

XTE J1550-564

    The suggested optical counterpart (IAUC 7009) of the new X-ray transient
(IAUC 7008, vsnet-alert 2154) seems to be confirmed by the radio observation
by Campbell-Wilson et al. (IAUC 7010).

    The position of the optical counterpart:

   15h 50m 58s.78  (J2000.0)
   -56o 28' 35".0

       16V-

    The USNO-based chart is available (vsnet-chart 99 at
http://vsnet.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp/vsnet/Mail/vsnet-chart/msg00099.html).

    Observers are strongly recommended to record the optical behavior of
this likely BH-type X-ray transient.
