[vsnet-alert 2101] V592 Her: possible superhump emergence

V592 Her: possible superhump emergence

Dear Colleagues,

Gordon Garradd (Loomberah NSW Australia) has kindly provided a set of
time-series CCD photometry of V592 Her (will be posted separately to
vsnet-obs). A preliminary analysis of relative maginitudes of V592 Her
to the comparison suggests the existence of ~0.2-mag hump with a possible
period close to the spectroscopic period detected by Mennickent et al.

The likely humps are singly peaked. This feature may indicate V592 Her
may be experiencing the stage of rapid evolution of "true" superhumps.
During this stage, another WZ Sge star EG Cnc experienced a recovery from
the initial rapid decay (sometimes called "glitch"). Snapshot observations
are equally important whether the same phenomenon occurs in V592 Her.
Independent confirmations and follow-up observations of hump features are
strongly encouraged.

Regards,
Taichi Kato
